The Causal Analysis Workshop Series (CAWS) is requesting papers! CAWS 2021 will be held on July 16, 2021. CAWS 2021 will be occurring online due to limitations imposed by the global pandemic. Papers must be submitted to the workshop through easychair.

CAWS promotes the development and application of causal discovery and related methods, identifies challenges in causal inference and causal discovery that require the development of new causally informed algorithms and statistical procedures, guides the field of causal analysis towards establishing best practices, and provides a venue for causal analysis researchers to share and communicate their findings.

Some examples of appropriate research topics are:

  • Development/improvement of automated causal modeling methods
  • Application or evaluation of automated causal modeling methods
  • Causal effect estimation by data driven causal structure discovery
  • Predictive modeling applications guided by causal structure discovery
  • Causal discovery leveraging combined information in prior knowledge, using data from multiple different sources, data types, measurement granularity, and data distributions
  • Automated identification of optimal interventions from discovered causal models

Works in progress are encouraged!

Submission options:

  • Full Paper: maximum 12 pages
  • Extended Abstract: maximum 3 pages

Use the PMLR paper style, papers do not need to be blinded. Authors of accepted Full Papers will be invited to give a virtual talk, and authors of accepted Extended Abstracts will be invited to present a virtual poster. Authors of accepted Full Papers can choose to include a revised version of their paper in a special issue of Proceedings of Machine Learning Research.

Please feel free to contact the organizers for more information!
